The famous Claret Jug, golf’s most coveted trophy, will be touring the UK this summer in the build-up to The 150th Open at St Andrews.

As part of the trophy tour, conducted in partnership with HSBC, the Claret Jug will be visiting our Trafford Store on Tuesday 21st June, giving you the chance to follow in the footsteps of the sport’s greats by getting up close to the illustrious trophy.

Dating back to 1872, the Claret Jug is presented to the Champion Golfer of the Year at The Open. Originally produced by renowned silversmiths, Mackay Cunningham & Company of Edinburgh, the trophy has been on permanent display at the clubhouse of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews since 1928.

Golf fans, old and new, will have an opportunity to get within touching distance of one of sport’s most recognisable pieces of silverware.

How to get involved

The Claret Jug’s visit to Trafford is open to everyone; simply arrive at Trafford Golf Centre any time between 1pm and 6pm to have your photo taken with the Golf Champion Trophy. If you’re an AG Club Card holder, you’ll have the option to have a professional photo taken with the Claret Jug.
